  • Fees
    Each session lasts 50 minutes and are £45 Sessions are for adults only (18+) Payment is via bank transfer 48 hours prior to keep the session There is a 24-hour cancellation policy in place where full fee will be charged
  • What will the first session be like?
    Our first session is a chance for us to find out whether we think we would work well together. I believe that a successful outcome is dependent on a good therapeutic relationship. To get more of a sense of you, I may ask some questions such as: - What brings you to therapy? - Why now? - What would you like to get out of our time together? - How will you know when you’re feeling better? - What might get in the way of this happening? Of course, you may also ask whatever questions you would like.
  • I don’t feel like I have a major problem. Can I still benefit from therapy?
    Lots of people feel like this. In fact, this is part of the suffering for a lot of people because they resist working on their problems because "it could be so much worse." In my professional opinion, there are no shortcuts through our pain and struggles. And just because "it could be so much worse" doesn't mean the experience will go away, so why not get some support and free up some mental and emotional energy?
  • How long does therapy take?
    For some, a few sessions. For example, maybe you are struggling with a career decision and you just need to explore what the right path is for you. Or perhaps, you have mild anxiety and you want to explore a few tips and tricks to help you feel more free. It is possible that these issues might take a few sessions and you are good to go. Some choose to attend counseling long term, this depends on the individual and the difficulties you wish to work through. For example, if you are working through some tough trauma, debilitating anxiety or depression, or recovery from an abusive relationship, it may be helpful to attend counseling for a longer period. This gives us an opportunity to develop a strong, trusting relationship, develop well-paced, realistic goals and time for you to grow and heal. On average, I find that most people wish to work together for 8-10 sessions, however this is on an individual basis and we can contract on the length of our work together both initially and periodically throughout the sessions.
